What the Inspections module covers
On the Alberta NCSO exam, Inspections covers formal and informal inspections, inspection frequency, corrective action tracking, and documentation. It is one of ten modules, and the exam draws across all of them — which is why candidates who are strong on site but narrow in coverage still fail.
Where candidates lose marks. Candidates confuse inspection with audit. They are separate processes with separate purposes and the exam tests the distinction.

These are real questions from the NCSO Prep bank, shown with their answers and the reasoning behind them. Every question in the app explains the rule it comes from, so you learn where a requirement lives rather than memorising a letter.
Sample question 1

- Photograph hazards; file reports with government; assign liability
- Identify existing and potential hazards; determine underlying causes; recommend corrective action correct

Why

Sample question 2
Which type of inspection is done to check equipment and work areas BEFORE a specific task begins?
- Government compliance audit
- Formal scheduled inspection
- Critical part inspection
- Pre-task (pre-job) inspection correct

Sample question 3
Management should participate in formal inspections primarily because:
- To delegate safety responsibilities to front-line workers
- To protect company profitability and avoid fines
- To minimize regulatory compliance time and cost
- To demonstrate genuine management commitment and ensure inspections are completed correctly correct
Why
Management participation sends a powerful message: safety is a core value. It ensures resources are committed to correcting hazards, increases worker confidence, and ensures inspections are done rigorously - not superficially.
