NCSO practice exam

The single most useful thing you can do before your NCSO exam is sit a full timed one. Not a quiz. The whole thing — 100 questions, 2 hours, no feedback until you submit.

What our mock exam replicates

  • 100 questions, weighted across all ten modules like the real blueprint
  • 2 hours on a live countdown that turns amber at 15 minutes and red under 5
  • No feedback until you submit — exactly like exam day
  • Scored against 75%, the pass mark commonly applied
  • A per-module breakdown afterwards showing precisely which areas cost you marks

Why timed practice matters more than re-reading

Candidates rarely fail the NCSO exam because a topic was too technical. They fail for two much more ordinary reasons: they ran out of time, or an entire module went under-practised because it never comes up on their own job site.

A timed mock fixes both at once. It forces pacing under pressure, and it exposes the modules you have been quietly avoiding. Doing two full mocks before the real thing is worth more than another week of highlighting notes.

How to use a practice exam properly

  1. Sit the first one early — before you feel ready. It is diagnostic, not a verdict. A low first score is normal and useful.
  2. Work the breakdown, not the score. The number matters far less than which modules dragged it down.
  3. Drill your two weakest modules for a week using spaced repetition.
  4. Sit a second mock. If you clear the pass mark comfortably with time to spare, you are ready.

Frequently asked questions

Is the NCSO practice exam free?

You can create an account and start training on the full Legislation module free, with no credit card. Full timed mock exams and the remaining nine modules are part of Premium, which starts at $19 CAD a month.

How many questions is the real NCSO exam?

Formats are set by the certifying body and are periodically revised. Our mock uses a 100-question, 2-hour format scored at 75%, which reflects the structure candidates most commonly report. Always confirm the current format with your certifying body.

Are these the real exam questions?

No, and you should be wary of anyone claiming otherwise. Our questions are original, written against publicly available Alberta OHS legislation and current industry standards. Leaked question banks are usually outdated and reference legislation that has since changed.
